Test Preparation and More
Through Get2College.org and our Get2College Centers, Education Services Foundation offers a variety of FREE information and college planning services to help Mississippi’s high school students get to college. ESF’s Get2College Centers offer a friendly environment where both students and parents can come to learn more about what it takes to get in and pay for college. Professional counselors are available to assist with ACT/SAT preparation, completing admissions and financial aid applications, résumé building, career exploration, college selection, essay writing and more!
Get2College Orientation
Find out who we are, what we do and explore the many ways we can help you get to college—and pay for it! (30 minute session)
Get2College Road Map
Learn how to make the transition from high school or work to college. We’ll help you develop an appropriate timeline, so you won’t hit any road blocks or pot holes along the way. (1 hour session)
Financial Aid & Scholarship Primer
Learn all about the different types of financial aid programs out there, including federal and state grants, student loans, work study and performance-based scholarships. Plus, become familiar with the requirements and deadlines for each of them. (45 minute session)
ACT/SAT Preparation
Choose from a variety of options, including books, videos, workshops and interactive resources to maximize your test scores—and perhaps even your choice of college and eligibility for some forms of financial aid. (Session times vary)
College Search
Not sure where you want to go to college? Don’t worry. We’ll help you find the right place for your interests and goals. (1.5 hour session)
FAFSA, State and Other Financial Aid
Whether you’re renewing or filing for the first time, let us guide you through the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), Mississippi Student Financial Aid Application and institutional applications for aid. (1.5 hour session)
Interview Skills
Let us help you prepare for your scholarship, honors college, college admissions or job interview. We’ll give you a heads-up on what to expect and how to handle it. Then we’ll follow up with a mock interview to make sure you’ve got it down. (Two one-hour sessions)
Career Exploration
How do you decide on a major? What field of employment best suits your personality? We’ll use a Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator® personality assessment and other indicators to help you discover your true strengths and interests, and explore careers you might enjoy beyond college. (4 hours over multiple sessions)
Résumé Writing 101
Résumé’s aren’t just for job seekers. They’re often required for scholarships and college admissions, too. We’ll help you put a winning résumé together. (1 hour session)
