Freshmen and Sophomore Timeline

  • Continue to improve your study skills and earn good grades. Your grades will figure in your high school grade point average used to award academic scholarships.
  • Talk with your guidance counselor about types of education available to you after high school.
  • Continue your involvement in outside activities.
  • Begin thinking about which type of school you want to attend and which attributes are most important to you.
  • Think about career choices and use the Internet or your local library to explore occupations that interest you.
  • Consider volunteering or taking a part-time job in an area that interests you, but don't let these activities interfere with your studies.
  • Take the PSAT to prepare for college entrance exams.
